How to save old homes - those homes which are no longer habitable and are slated for demolition. The challenge is to dismantle an old building, preserve the original materials, and then reconstruct the house, melding new construction techniques with the original frame. The final new "old" home is a combination of modern "stick-built" construction, wiring, insulation, plumbing, siding, roofing with the original materials inside - beams, flooring, brick for the interior chimneys and any other architectural detailing, such as paneling, doors, hardware, mantles etc. that existed in the original home.
